Work your talent / gift #blog

Use your talent to get ahead, don’t hide it. ( it could end in punishment)

My Daddy says “a man’s gift will make way for him and being him before Great men.” His book also has a story / parable about three men and their talents.

““For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey.”

Matthew 25:14-15 NKJV

A man again had three men to give assignments to. He gave all three what the book calls talents in differing denominations, 1, 2 and 5. And like it happens in life sometimes, we make excuses for not having enough to offer. We forget that we are all uniquely blessed and gifted to flourish in life. You see I have come to grasp the fact that we are individually built to fulfil a purpose on this earth. Anyway I digress, three people were given these differing sizes of talents to work with. The ones with 2 and 5 talents were able to develop and trade with theirs to the tune of 200%, if you Luke Maths. They earned twice the number of talents. There was a wicked and lazy one who hid and buried his one talent. And his excuse, his boss was a hard man who makes money where he has not worked. Does that even make sense? So he was blaming his boss somewhat for his failure to deliver. That must have been a unique type of mindset.

So say for example the lazy man had a talent for all things technology, he could have created the www, websites, apps, built software, created algorithms and the list goes on. Instead he chose to either do nothing about his talent or pick up another course in life unrelated to his talent, say cleaning or another job that would not provide a challenge. He was said to be wicked and lazy. Lazy I can understand but wicked? And he also had a contorted view of his boss’s character.

Unfortunately for the ‘lazy’ man, he was severely punished – lost his life and reward plus his talent was given to the one who traded and had the most talents.

It took a long time for me to reconnect with maths and data analysis, these are a few of my favourite things along with designing websites, flyers, event planning and writing.

I also learned a while ago that there’s always someone that wants what you have. So there will always be a market / demand for our skills. I’m not sure theft, murders and bad ones are included in this list. 😮

Imagine flowing beautifully and excellently in a talent you enjoy and serving the world with passion it brings when you deliver…

Please don’t go through life trying to be like someone else or wanting to be someone else. Find out what excites, hurts you, annoys you and needs fixing and maybe you may just find your one thing – purpose. If not try out your hand at different things while Volunteering.

Write and let me know if this helped in any way.
